TUR-MIA
Non-life insurance

Insurance is a promise. Ours is written so that it can be kept.

TUR-MIA underwrites non-life insurance: property, liability, cargo and business interruption. We do not sell life policies, and we do not pretend that every risk is insurable.

A policy earns its value on the worst day of the year, not on the day it is signed. That is why our wording avoids exceptions written to be discovered late, and why every exclusion appears in the same type size as the cover it limits.

We work with private clients, small businesses and carriers who need a policy that a court, an accountant and a client can all read the same way.

Section I

Lines of business

Each line below is offered as a standalone policy or as part of a combined programme. Limits, deductibles and territory are agreed before the quotation, not after it.

Property insurance
Buildings, equipment, stock and fit-out against fire, water damage, storm, burglary and accidental damage.
  • Sum insured agreed on a replacement or actual value basis, stated explicitly.
  • Separate limits for high-value items listed in the schedule.
Liability insurance
Cover for damage caused to third parties in the course of business activity, including legal defence costs.
  • General, product and employer liability written separately or in one section.
  • Defence costs stated as inside or outside the limit — never left ambiguous.
Cargo and transit
Goods in transit by road, rail, sea or air, on a single-shipment or annual turnover basis.
  • Cover from warehouse to warehouse, including loading and unloading.
  • Temperature-sensitive and high-value cargo underwritten individually.
Business interruption
Loss of gross profit and increased cost of working after an insured physical loss.
  • Indemnity period chosen by the client and tested against real recovery times.
  • Supplier and utility extensions available where the dependency is documented.
Section II

From notification to payment

1

Notification

Report the event in writing. A claim number and a named handler are issued the same working day.

2

Assessment

The loss is inspected and documented. We state which documents are required and why.

3

Decision

A written decision citing the exact clause applied, whether the answer is yes or no.

4

Settlement

Payment within the period stated in the policy, or an interim payment where the amount is disputed.

If we decline, we explain

A refusal always names the clause, the fact it relies on and the route to challenge it. A claim that fails should fail for a reason the policyholder can read.

Named handlerOne person responsible from notification to closure.
Written reasoningEvery decision refers to a numbered clause of the policy.
Interim paymentsThe undisputed part is paid while the rest is examined.
Right of reviewAn internal review by a person who did not take the first decision.
Section III

Four rules our wording follows

Exclusions are visible
Everything that is not covered is listed in one place, in the same type size as the cover itself.
Deductibles are numbers
A deductible is stated as an amount or a percentage of a defined base, never as a formula that needs interpretation.
Underinsurance is checked at quotation
We raise the sum insured before issuing the policy rather than applying average after a loss.
Renewal terms arrive early
Changes to price or conditions are sent well before expiry, so the client has time to compare the market.
